Term 3 Blog

Hello everybody!

We have had a busy start to term 3 and have enjoyed taking part in International Week.

We had a visit from the Mobile Spanish Library and loved hearing a story all in Spanish about colours and emotions and having a look at lots of Spanish books. We watched some Spanish cartoons too!

Mrs Gibson also came and spoke to us all about children in Malawi and we were shocked at how different our lives are to theirs. We are very lucky!

We also learned Scottish Poems for the school Burns Competition. Miss Minto and Mrs Strachan were so impressed by how well we had all managed to memorise and perform a 3 verse poem. Here are some photos of our finalists performing them on stage:

Our teachers asked the boys and girls to write the rest of this blog - so here are some of the things that we have been learning about...

"We have been learning to make words and to do some writing. I have enjoyed writing about the Loch Ness Monster." Freya

"We have been learning about shapes. We can name triangles, nonagons, octagons, squares, rectangles, pentagons, decagons, hexagons and rectangles." Sean

"I have been learning about Scotland because it is our topic. I have learned about the Scottish flag and painted pictures of them." Barry

"I liked learning jobs. I like doing Maths. I like to learn in topic, our topic is learning about Scotland. We have made Scotland flags." Beth

"I have enjoyed playing outside. I have been helping to clean out the House corner in Mrs Buchanan’s Room." Alfie

"I like playing in the house corner. I am the Mum and I have to clear up all of the mess that the baby’s been doing. I learned The Elephant by JK Annand I liked it because I was going up on the stage and I did my poem. It made me feel happy." Brooke

"I have been having lots of fun in the open area. I have lots and lots of fun playing at write and design and plan and build. I like trying to build Pikachu’s and big, giant people. At write and design I like drawing lots of pokemon and doing lots of creative things and it’s lots of fun. I like learning my numbers and I like phonics." Jacob
